Show Me The Metal Italy!

The name of Electricity measurement Volt comes from Alessandro Volta (pictured above) who invented the first battery in 1779. I bow to Volta, because this Italian man’s invention has been powering up electric guitars and amps for years and years to come! Italy is also the home of espresso – something for Metalheads to obssess about.

Co-incidently, the Italians play host to two large scale Metal Festivals.

Gods Of Metal Festival

In 1997, the Gods Of Metal Festival was born and has successfully been able to run throughout the years while boasting the biggest names in Metal music. The Festival is generally held between the roads of Milan and Bologna and this year’s (2011) line-up looks better than my Italian espresso.
The festival will be held in 22 June 2011 and the line-up is made up of Judas Priest, Whitesnake, Mr.Big, Cradle of Filth and Epica. So far those are the details that I can confirm.

Have a look at the ultra trending (Italian style) website: http://www.godsofmetal.it/

The really awesome thing is that the Gods Of Metal Festival caters for those who are disabled. Plus on their website you can sort out all Festival needs and wants without having to search through other websites.

Heineken Jammin Festival
From the makers of Gods Of Metal Festival, the Heineken Jammin Festival was born in Venice. Bringing over big names as well as promoting Italian metal and rock bands. The Heineken Jammin Festival is confirmed for the 9, 10, 11 June 2011. The acts confirmed so far are Coldplay, Vasco Rossi, Negramaro and Pretty Reckless.

There is also an announcement of a registration for a Heineken Jammin Band Contest.
